We are newcomers, or as some would say "Rookies" to the backcountry hunting community. Our goal is to educate ourselves as well as other Rookies and gain the valuable experience we need to be successful backcountry hunters. As we begin our incredible and exciting adventure we want to invite Rookies, like us, and experienced hunters to learn and help all skill levels be prepared for their backcountry hunting adventure.
The Backcountry Rookies Podcast was developed to help new hunters learn the ideas and hunting tactics of the best hunters in the West. I totally understand that I am not an expert in any way, I am a Rookies too. I want to bring on the best hunters to provide the best information to help new hunters understand the difficulties of getting out west to hunt. Hopefully the information helps, and I am always looking for ideas for the next show. Please feel free to contact me and let me know if you have an idea for a show.
Part of the experience is being comfortable and feeling confident. We believe comfort and confidence as a Rookie is trusting your knowledge and gear. Please enjoy our gear reviews in the blog below to help inform you about some of the gear we are planning to use. Also, check out our podcast to help you build the knowledge needed to be a better backcountry hunter.
